Managing Director of Shield Pest Control Celebrates 25 Years

Dan Steward

Shield Pest Control Managing Director, Daniel Steward, is proud to celebrate 25 rewarding years at the business, following in the footsteps of his father, Allan Steward, who founded the company in 1975.

Daniel joined Shield Pest Control in 2001, steadily working his way up through the business, moving from District Surveyor to Contracts Director, before being appointed Managing Director in 2012, a position he has held ever since. Over the years, he has built and maintained enduring business relationships for Shield Pest Control, growing an impressive portfolio of both corporate and public sector contracts. His passion for creating long-term value for the company’s clients has been central to sustaining business performance, while fostering a stable, positive working environment for loyal staff and customers alike.

Under Daniel’s leadership, Shield Pest Control has enjoyed some of its most memorable moments and onboarded a number of highly regarded clients, including the official Royal Warrant, first granted by Her Majesty The Queen in 2008 and re-granted by His Majesty The King in 2024. Daniel has built an excellent reputation and working relationship with The Royal Household, ensuring its establishments remain well supported and pest-free.

Among his career, Daniel highlights the opportunity to work with the Parliamentary Estate, a relationship that began in 2011 and which he has had the pleasure of leading ever since. He has also helped the business sustain long-standing partnerships with clients such as Davies Wine Bar, where Shield Pest Control marked the company’s landmark 50th anniversary with a celebratory event in 2025, and worked alongside prestigious names including the Harley Street Clinic, a particularly proud moment, and the British Medical Association. Just as importantly, he has championed a number of smaller, community-driven contracts local to Bromley, along with lasting relationships across the finance and social housing sectors.

Daniel has also driven a number of charitable initiatives throughout his time at Shield Pest Control. Highlights include launching a biodiversity project in support of the Bee Friendly Trust, and supporting Bromley Borough Food Bank, together with the Royal Warrant Holders’ Charity Fund. Daniel's community focus extends to local sport, with Shield Pest Control proud to sponsor Bromley Football Club.

He has also worked closely with his team to strengthen the business's environmental credentials, helping Shield Pest Control become a certified Avetta ESG Innovator, recycling thousands of kilograms of waste in partnership with First Mile, and promoting carbon-neutral company vehicles with the XLCR Group.

Over the past quarter of a century, Daniel has continued to drive Shield Pest Control forward through growth, community engagement, and sustainability, helping it remain one of London’s leading and longest-standing independent pest control providers. As he marks 25 years with the business, Daniel looks forward to what the future holds for him and Shield Pest Control.
