Daniel Steward is Managing Director at Shield Pest Control, with 22 years of experience within the pest control industry. Under Daniel's leadership, Shield Pest Control has become known for its long-standing reputation and commitment to customer service and satisfaction. Specialising in business management, Daniel is responsible for overseeing a team of dedicated managers, office staff, and pest control technicians while handling the company's operations to ensure that the business provides high-quality pest control services to its full roster of high-profile clients. Outside of work, Daniel enjoys travelling to the Greek Islands where he has family connections and is even learning the language!
Alan Burton
Contracts Director
Starting with the company in 2004, Alan is responsible for overseeing and managing Shield Pest Control’s clients and contracts, as well as the business development team. Alan assists with the day-to-day running of the business and ensures long-term objectives are met. Since starting at Shield Pest Control, Alan has quickly built valuable relationships with a large portfolio of both new and existing clients which are still going strong to this day. When not at work, you can find Alan on the golf course, or down at the driving range practicing his best shot.
Alison Bennett
Contracts and Compliance Manager
Alison handles client contracts and oversees company audits, including H&S, Cyber Securities and Quality & Environmental ISO9001 & 14001. Always on hand to help, Alison assists with contract and client queries, and ad-hoc technician requests and works closely with the business’ external PR and marketing team. Alison helps arrange ongoing, quality training for technicians and staff members and represents Shield Pest Control at high-profile client networking events to promote the business. Alison is committed to improving Shield Pest Control’s sustainability and charitable efforts by helping to arrange company events, whilst raising money and awareness for charitable causes. She enjoys outdoor fitness classes and long walks and is also the Treasurer at her local netball team.
Emily Boorman
Contracts Coordinator and Fleet Manager
Emily manages the set-up of client contracts, updating internal records, and organising daily invoices. Emily ensures that there is an ongoing, swift communication system between Shield Pest Control and its clients, often liaising and offering solutions to client contract queries. When she isn’t working on client contracts, you can find Emily compiling Risk Assessment Method Statements and carrying out FORS audits, whilst also managing Shield Pest Control’s fleet of business vehicles and regularly updating the fleet management system. In her spare time, Emily loves going for long walks, spending time with her nearest and dearest, and travelling the world exploring new countries.
Nick Fowle
Finance Manager
Nick oversees all of the financial aspects of Shield Pest Control, from payroll and HR to invoicing and supplier payments, developing strategies to prevent financial risk. As a Purchase Ledger for the business, Nick also oversees all payments being made, as well as managing VAT and PAYE submissions. When he hasn’t got his head in numbers, Nick is a sport enthusiast, often spending his weekends going for long runs, cycling trips, and even hikes! Nick is also an avid book reader, film lover, and finds joy in listening to his favourite tunes.
Kay Harris
Service Desk Assistant
As Shield Pest Control’s Service Desk Assistant, Kay is the first point of contact, providing excellent customer service for both clients and customers seeking to book regular routine visits or one-off inspections, either by phone or email. Kay’s day-to-day role involves sorting and dispatching calls and planning daily workload schedules for technicians while working on ad hoc administrative duties to help keep the office running smoothly. When Kay isn’t keeping the Shield Pest Control office in check, you will find her globetrotting, attending the latest music events, and going on leisurely walks with her dog, Crowley.
Terri Walker
Helpdesk Manager
Using excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, Terri ensures that SLA targets are always successfully met through the delivery of updates and tracking requests through to completion. With our in-house database, Terri both logs and inputs work order requests to keep technicians updated on their workload. Terri also deals with daily customer requests, always offering outstanding customer service. Out of office hours, Terri keeps up her passion for fitness with kickboxing, and often takes trips around the world to explore new places.
Michaela Williams
Accounts Assistant
Michaela is responsible for working closely with the accounts team, helping with the preparation and distribution of invoices to clients, as well as tracking financial expenses. Alongside this, Michaela assists with general account administration and purchasing for the business. Outside of work, Michaela enjoys spending quality time with family, attending theatre performances, and is even interested in the mystical world of crystals!
Philip Simpson
Supervisor
Phil has been a Supervisor of the service department for almost twelve years, responsible for both the ordering and distribution of stock. Phil regularly carries out van inspections and face fit tests. He also assists the Shield Pest Control operators with training and supports them on larger-scale projects where required. In his spare time, when not dealing with stock orders, Phil’s favourite hobby lies in fishing.
Robert Hayden
Senior Surveyor
As Senior Surveyor, Robert visits both new and existing client sites, carrying out site-specific surveys and inspections, whilst providing bespoke recommendations and quotations to control the client’s pest problem. Robert is an expert particularly in the surveying of feral bird and mammal jobs which he will often project manage when on a large scale. As a valued member of the Shield Pest Control team, Robert often represents the business at networking events, and helps to retain existing client relationships. Whilst ensuring adherence and compliance with audit standards, Robert also maintains a dialogue with technicians regarding ongoing work and queries. Outside of work, Robert is a food enthusiast and loves dining out. He also loves fishing and football, and is a devoted season ticket holder at West Ham United.
Danny Gordon
Bird Team Foreman
As Bird Team Foreman, Danny is in charge of the Feral Bird Control Division. With over 28 years of experience working at Shield Pest Control, Danny is a qualified specialist in all aspects of Feral Bird Control across both domestic and commercial premises, including the Royal Households and The Parliamentary Estate. In Danny’s spare time, you will find him on the golf course, or at the gym working on his fitness!
